Welcome to PoliTorium, a social media app designed to foster educational, intellectual, and respectful conversation and debate about political topics and policies. By accessing or using PoliTorium, you agree to comply with the following Terms of Service. These terms outline the rules and guidelines for using our platform in a manner that promotes constructive discussions and respectful engagement.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PoliTorium, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please refrain from using our platform.
Purpose and Community Guidelines
PoliTorium aims to serve as a middle ground for individuals to learn, discuss political topics and policies, and encourage respectful conversations across different perspectives. To maintain a positive and inclusive environment, we expect all users to adhere to the following community guidelines:
Respectful Conduct: Users must engage in civil, respectful, and courteous conversations. Harassment, personal attacks, hate speech, discriminatory language, or any form of abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
Educational and Intellectual Content: All content shared on PoliTorium should be focused on promoting educational, intellectual, and informed discussions. Users are encouraged to provide thoughtful insights, supporting evidence, and engage in critical thinking.
Fact-Based Discussions: Users are expected to share and discuss content that is supported by factual information from reliable sources. Misinformation, unsupported claims, or conspiracy theories have no place on this platform.
Redundant Content: Users should avoid posting redundant content that has already been discussed extensively. Before creating a new discussion thread, users are encouraged to search for existing topics and contribute to ongoing conversations.
Non-Trolling Policy: Trolling, spamming, or intentionally disruptive behavior is strictly prohibited. Users found engaging in such activities will be subject to penalties, including muting, and repeated offenses may result in a ban.
Enforcement and Penalties
PoliTorium enforces a progressive penalty system to maintain the platform's integrity and ensure compliance with these guidelines. The penalties for violating the terms are as follows:
First Offense: In the case of a first offense, the user will receive a warning or a temporary mute, limiting their ability to engage in discussions for a specified period.
Subsequent Offenses: If a user continues to violate the guidelines, subsequent offenses will result in progressively more severe penalties, including longer mutes or temporary suspensions.
Ban: In extreme cases or for repeated offenses, PoliTorium reserves the right to ban users permanently from the platform. This decision will be made at the discretion of the PoliTorium moderation team.
Reporting and Moderation
Users are encouraged to report any violations of the community guidelines by using the reporting features provided within the PoliTorium app. The PoliTorium moderation team will review reported content and take appropriate action based on the severity of the violation.
Intellectual Property
Users retain the ownership of the content they contribute to PoliTorium. However, by submitting content to the platform, users grant PoliTorium a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute the content for the purposes of operating and promoting the platform.
